EMANUELE COSTANTINO SOVERINI

introduction

"I am passionate about blending function and beauty in design, drawing inspiration from nature and human integrity.

Strong advocate for teamwork as a key to collective success"

My constant commitment and interest in the field of architecture and its urban implications led me to merit-based participation in the ELEMENTAL Workshop led by Pritzker Prize Laureate Alejandro Aravena on Social Housing.

Additionally, the Advanced Architectural Design Workshop conducted under the guidance of Vicens + Ramos on high-rise buildings, provided me with a broader perspective on possible solutions for contemporary cities as a response to the increasingly demanding urbanization.

Furthermore, my enduring passion for the study and preservation of Rome's Heritage led me to contribute to the project of the Anastylosis of the Ulpia Basilica in the Trajan's Forum, part of the Imperial Fora in Rome, where I served as an assistant trainer working on the entablature and the four capitals.

I believe that architecture is not just about creating structures but also about telling stories and preserving the essence of our shared history. This ethos has guided my design research, inspiring me to create spaces that honor tradition while embracing functionality and modern language.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I have actively immersed myself in the arts, dedicating my free time to pencil drawing, sculpture and ceramics. After graduating from a classical high school program in Rome, I spent time with artisans along Via Margutta and Via dell’Orso, the two renowned streets celebrated for their craftsmanship, exploring the secrets of framers, blacksmiths, and sculptors. My passion for ceramics led me to Vietri sul Mare, a UNESCO-listed gem on the Amalfi Coast, where I had the privilege of learning and collaborating with master ceramists Lucio Liguori and Antonio d’Acunto, creating sculptures and hand-crafted ceramic plates, refining my skills under their guidance. Additionally, I attended engraving courses at the Milan studio on Alzaia Naviglio Grande of artist Gigi Pedroli, often regarded as the last dreamlike bard of the city. His mentorship - and fortepiano - enriched my artistic journey, deepening my appreciation for traditional engraving techniques.

These artistic experiences, among others, have enriched my understanding of form, texture, and materiality - elements that have profoundly influenced my academic journey and enabled me to approach design challenges with creativity and sensitivity.
